Teaching Children About Different Colors

Bay Shore, NY August 12, 2012

After the successful release of her educational book, Silly, Silly Mary, in October 2011 which helped parents discover an easy way to teach their children on how to know and identify different colors around them, author Patricia Dempsey once again invites parents, teachers and tutors to get a copy of her book and try it to their children.

This picture book makes learning a fun, adventurous and exciting experience as it takes young readers to a fun-filled and vibrant world where a little girl named Mary introduces the basic colors through different drawings. Through rhyme and rhythm, the text begins as this silly girl invites her friends over to play at her house. She takes out the paints and crayons, and they start to draw and color. Readers are introduced to different colors and hues ? primary, secondary, and tertiary ? as Mary identifies the things that have each color.

Splashed with watercolor illustrations, Silly, Silly Mary helps young readers ? as young as toddlers ? identify the different colors of the world. Though this book is published in October 2011, it is still and will always be a perfect teaching tool and a good instrument for parent-child bonding.

Between Sisters

No one knows you like your sister. She can make you laugh or break your heart with a single word. And no one writes novels like Kristin Hannah, an author who vividly explores the intricate bonds of family and, as Tami Hoag said “touches the deepest, most tender corners of our heart.
